Family Trip
For the second year in a row we ventured through BC on our family trip. There are very few options for roads so we have to get creative with out of the way stops and smaller towns. This suits our travel style very well. We found a new gem this year in Nakusp. We did take in one tourist trap by visiting Barkerville. It was a pleasant surprise. Other than that we just worked our way down tent camping to the cabin. On the return trip we took in a lavender festival, baseball game, and the zoo.
The Cabin
The cabin remains a high point of any of our trips and is a welcomed place to stay after several tenting nights. The shower roof has been rebuilt and a new crapper has been dug. We really enjoyed our stay there again. Rie is wading in the water much deeper than last year and will put her face in the hot spring water and blow bubbles. I hope she takes to swimming.
Firsts for Rie
Rie went through her first zoo. She also has become more used to water. We went to several spray parks in the cities and a water slide at a hot spring. She has no concept of mosquitoes or how to swat them. She got hammered despite bug dope and protective clothes.
