Halibut Fishing |
There is nothing more boring than jigging for halibut on a sport rod. We are luck enough to have a subsistence halibut fishery here in Sitka. We set out a skate with 15-20 hooks and pull the gear after it has soaked through a couple of tide changes. The first few pictures are of a yearly gathering in a regional bay where several of us get together and fish our gear. It is a good time. The other pictures are from our haul a couple of years ago on Greg's skate. One fish this size is enough for both of our families for the year.
