Well spring break is nearly over. We kept it pretty low key. The weather has been bad enough to keep the boat tied up. Tad and I were planning a trip south after some early halibut. It appears that is not going to happen. We have been able to get out a few times between the snow and wind. Here are some pictures of a couple of our little adventures. The snow line is still low and the waters are gray. The sea is starting to wake up though. Not soon enough for the sea lions and eagles. Most of the herring fleet is in town in anticipation of the openings. Kerty put flowers on Merrill's grave again for the first day of spring. She added a few to her stamp room as well. We finally made it out to the Fortress of the Bear site. It was windy and snowing so we did not stay long. We also made it to the beach a few times. Rie won third place in a local coloring competition through Sea Mart. She added color and interpretation to a couple pages. She won $10 and was able to buy an Elmo book and a small bunny. She smiles every time now when you say 'prize'.
We had little Rie's second birthday party the other night. She had great fun. Her cousins and their families were there as well as Grandpa and Grandma O. Gloria and her husband Dave also came. She did make an attempt to blow out her candles. She got many neat prizes.

Plans are set for this year's mining trip. We are taking off for the claim on June 5th. I will stay until the 30th of June with Joe and Greg deciding to stay an addition week. Greg modified the old highbanker to serve as a two inch dredge. We added a Hookah air system to the big dredge so we have more flexibility. A second hand B&S motor from a South Dakota yard sale, a donated dry suit from the local vet and a super deal on a regulator form a softball buddy and we are up and running.
Kerty, Rie and I are planning another summer trip to BC later in the summer. We do not have a definite destination yet.

Kerty was busy with her stamping this summer. I try hard to keep her newest projects on the web. Here is a link to her March through August projects.
